Compare Volume Percent available to available space

Hey All,

Maybe someone can point me in the right direction on this. I am trying to monitor DB servers with a wide variety of Volume sizes. The DBAs want to alert on 20% free space left on smaller volumes and also on different fixed amounts based on the size of the volumes. This was easy and has been done.

In comes the hard part:

They want the alert to trigger when the lesser amount is triggered. Example: 300GB drive will alert at 60GB with a 20% free space alert, and will also alert the Fixed free space alert which is set to 50GB. They want it not to alert until the lower amount it met (50GB) and only generate one alert, not one for percentage and fixed free space.

Confusing to describe, took me a few times to get it.

Anyone know if its possible to get the percentage free space left to compare against the fixed space alert to reduce the additional alerts?

That was the logic I was thinking as well. Which works but they want it to compare what that percentage is to the available space, and alert on the one that would trigger last.

programming logic of an if/then statement. If the percentage free is greater than the available space remaining, don't alert until the available space alert triggers.

Well as is you'd just have to change that OR block to an AND block in my screenshot above. OR would trigger for whichever condition gets there first, AND would trigger for when they're both met, which necessarily includes the one which would trigger last.

Perhaps I'm not understanding your question properly though. IF/THEN logic isn't available as such, but can usually be worked around by a combination of clever logic, custom properties and SWQL.
