SNMP Monitoring for high-latency networks.

Hello,

We have a SolarWinds NPM server in London and we want to monitor our switches and firewalls in Sydney. There are about 2000 elements in Sydney.

Are there any issues with monitoring devices over high latency networks? We have enough bandwidth between London and Australia but the latency is  320 ms.

Do we need to go for a distribution monitoring and install polling engines or built a separate NPM server in Sydney?

I've haven't had latency regularly above 300ms, but I monitor from NY to Hong Kong with normal latency around 225ms.  So far I haven't had any problems on the NPM side, other than long discovery times.
