Please Help ME out in this Problem. Stop Receiving Logs in MY KIWI after few days !!!!

Hi,

i install KIWI Syslogs EVAL version in Windows XP and make my mail server send the logs to the KIWI server through as switch. Yes it work Perfectly and it receiving the logs from the mail server ((( but )) after Few days (3days) is is stop receiving logs from server ??? the server run and it is logs screen work in the server side, not a problem of the server. i only restert my PC and again it work fine by receiving logs but again after few days it stop receiving logs and again i restart the PC and it work fine, i can't restart a every time.

Since setting up a new server on 9.1 (old servers run 7.x) we are also seeing three related issues:

More service failures (a service stop can be recovered from by automatic restarts of the service under windows' SERVICES ) We seen this issue across multiple version of Kiwi, but the frequency has definitely increased.

A memory leak is likely. Memory steadily climbs until the (aforementioned) service failure occurs.

Zombie state of the the service where all logs stop writing. Service remains up, but does not respond to Service Manager for requests, such as statistics or diagnostic info. We STOP/START the service and everything resumes fine. Because the service stays up--we don't get alerted. In this zombie state memory usage jumps up, but not due to message buffering (which would be a much greater level).

Here's Kiwi's process memory usage over several days. The red lines show service failures where Windows automatically restarted it a minute later. Note memory slides up, then plunges with each restart. The yellow is a time period where CPU was maxxing out, and we would have started queueing messages. On the 28th at 4:12 PM, the memory shoots up and the service at that point is functionally dead.

This is the first time, in nearly 10 years of using & recommending Kiwi across multiple customers, that such a catastrophic failure in the service has occurred. My hope is this is a short-lived issue. We have lost all log from the 28th on and are currently investigating legal issues that can only be tracked by those logs. Thankfully I still have the 7.2.35 server still running and receiving a second copy. I am trying to shutdown the old server, but this catastrophic failure means 9.1 is not reliable.

In the mean time I'm going to setup alerts to watch for low CPU to catch the issue.

If you don't have Recovery setup for the Kiwi Service, I would suggest trying these settings. Kiwi falls down every couple of days here unless we have recovery configured this way. Reset Fail Count after 1 Day is key... otherwise 4 failures in a day and you stop syslogging. These settings get us past the regular service stops.

Do you have the default Web Access logging rule is use.

The Service Options that the screen shot I show are part of Windows Services - not unique or particular to Kiwi at all.

Administrative Tools->Services->Kiwi Syslog Service->right click for Properties.
