PIX 515E Interfaces Unknown

We have two of these devices (7.2(3)), both are showing all interfaces unknown.

The SNMP config is:

snmp-server host inside 10.10.80.9 community string
no snmp-server location
no snmp-server contact
snmp-server community string
snmp-server enable traps snmp authentication linkup linkdown coldstart

In Orion (10.1.1) I have one set to SNMP version 2c, and one to version 1. Still both devices are showing interfaces unknown. Both devices are generating large amounts of authorization failure traps also - Don't know if it's related.

Any ideas?

I would first recommend you to upgrade Orion NPM 10.1.2

- If you have SolarWinds Engineer Toolset run a MIB walk and see what value and OID been returned by target device.

Also you can use RealTime interface monitor in SolarWinds Engineer Toolset.

You can install 14 days trial .

Also you can create UDP as below in order to get the interface speed chart .

Solution 2.

Download this 3rd party tool ( In Trender Tab you can add device and monitor the real Time interface speed graph .

This will further isolate the issue.

First upgrade Orion 10.1.2 .

If you dont have Engineer Toolset you can download and monitor the RealTime interface Status.

& Run a MIB walk in order to get the OID and value been returned by target device.

You can create UDP for an interface statistic returned by device.

Also you can try this 3rd party tool Trender tab you can add the device and see realtime graph .

This will isolate the issue further.

I have found that I need a statement per node that will query the device:

snmp-server host .... <querying server IP> community <string>

the snmp-server community <string> statement does not seem to work properly.
