Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Configuring SolarWinds
csanchez
Our Monitoring Server went down and now I am going to have to reload from scratch. My question is, because I can still retreive the SolarWinds folder with all config files from the hard drives can I basically transfer over the folder or files to avoid having to rebuild the monitor. If so, what else woud need to be transfered.
We were running v7 and will be rebuilding with the latest version.
Thanks in advance.

Was the SQL server database also on the node that crashed? If so, do you have a recent backup of the database? All the inventory/configs/views/user accounts for Orion are stored in the SQL server database. If you can salvage the database, you're in good shape.
If you can restore the database, you just have to run the Orion install and point it to where the database is.
