Network Maps for Orion NPM

I've read a number of threads regarding maps and have seen the Orion Google Map resource thread. It apepars that really isn't ready yet as best I can determine.

Where can I get maps for NPM to which I can add nodes? The Google maps would be great. The other resources in Orion really aren't what I'm looking for. I need geographical map like Google.

There is a Map folder located in the customer portal-

On the Left Menu pane- > Additional Components

Download Orion NPM Components > Scroll down and locate the Orion Mapmaker maps folder.

Any map can be made a background to your node map. Just make it a jpeg and put it in your NetworkAtlas Backgrounds directory. Even google maps, just do an Alt-Print Scrn and paste it into your favorite paint program to crop out what you don't want. Just be careful with sizing, as user created backgrounds don't scale.

What about that real-time weather map that you see on the demo of the NPMv10 on the website? I would like to use that but I can't exactly get it to workt the right way. (i.e. Make the map a little bigger and have the weather running in real-time.)

HMMM...... thanks for trying to piont me in the right direction. Very helpful but we already have a weather map that we are from the weather channel that updates as the page refreshes. What I am looking for is actual real-time like the map found at this site http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/index_loop.php . You see I'm only interning for a company right now but both my mentor and I think it would be cool if we could get a map in real-time not based on when the page refreshes.

after downloading, how do you add the maps to your views and how would I add a node selector to open a new page view.

Example after adding the North America map, I would like a selector for Pittsburgh Data Center and would like to be able to click on it and it opens a new page depicting my devices and wans/lans for said site?
