Meraki API configured, but no data visible

Hi there,

Does anyone have details on troubleshooting the Meraki API node management?

I managed to add the dashboard.meraki.com, configure the API key and select one of the instances from the 'Get Organisation List'.

But when I got to the newly added device's view, the List of Thin Access Points resource contains no data.

At first I thought it was just a leave it and it will sort itself out, but it has been some 6 hours and still no data.

i have the same problem, for 1 meraki orga, i have information, for another meraki orga, it's empty

So you added dashboard.meraki.org as a node, set to the IP it needed to be set to along with providing cloud API credentials, and you saw no org's? cobrien / jason.carrier is there some basic step that might be overlooked when this happens? I recall there being issues if you try to add a controller after adding the meraki org and are polling through the cloud API.

Yes, I added dashboard.meraki.com (API polling), then I was able to get Organization List. I choose my Orga, but no information are collected.
And I added another node dashboard.meraki.com (API polling), with another API key, choose the Organization (another one), and informations (AP, etc) were correctly polled.

I can't figure why for the first node/api key i'm not able to poll information (and i'm admin on this meraki orga) ; i deleted and created another API key on that orga, same issue.

BTW, i'm not very happy with Meraki API polling :

- it's virtually considered as ONE node, so tagging is not relevant

- the lake of basic information (SSID, channels, clients connected)

So I tried to add Meraki AP/Switch as snmp node (working), but once again Meraki does not provide some basic informations (SSID, channels, clients connected)

Meraki is not fully integrated (API or snmp) in Solarwinds, and we have a lot of stores with Meraki (MS/MR/MX) we are in POC for NPM/NCM/SAM/NTA/UDT

Meraki API vs SNMP are different, and they have different functions. I'd strongly advise you contact your sales engineer to get a better understand of how to do what you're looking for. Meraki AP's can be polled for more or less full information. You get a little less for AP's/SSID information with the API but direct polling an AP/switch should get you about 90% of Meraki. I think jason.carrier can probably speak to that or cobrien (not sure who the real father of the meraki API polling stuff is, the father of the meraki is you!

jreves is exploring parts of polling Meraki switches for more information, maybe you can let him know what you'd like to see that you don't.

Hi,

Here is the view of a Meraki AP, polled by SNMP.

SSID/clients are missing (for all our meraki AP). The snmpwalk is very poor on these equipment

There is a list of AP, but no ssid, no endpoint, just some client in bottom, but without relevant information

So from API or SNMP, I can't have SSID and client information

Concerning Meraki switches (snmp), I thing most of important informations are here, maybe some missing informations (compared to a H3C)

- in UDT : duplex mode, IP, vlan

- in NPM : port mode, vlan
