Need assistance with setup of a Cisco 1142 AP in NPM 10.

Hello,

I am having trouble with adding a Cisco AP 1140 (model:AIR-AP1142N-A-K9) in NPM 10. The device shows up as Unknown and is no recognize as a Cisco device. When I click on wireless, it shows up but gives no Client details, SSIDs, or Channel information.

I ran the MIB walker on this device (per thwack forum posts that I have read) and I got this:

MIB OID Name Value
BW-BroadworksEMS-MIB 1.3.6.1 dod.1
BW-BroadworksEMS-MIB 1.3.6.1 dod.1

I saw in another thwack post that someone had this AP as:

Cisco 1140 AP - 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1034

I don't know what I am supposed to do with these. Can someone let me know what I can do to fix my issue where the device will show as Cisco and report Wireless information?

I ended up fixing my issue. The issue was due to the fact Cisco 1142 AP has an optional object identifier (OID) field that auto populates "ieee802dot11" when you set the SNMP string. I removed the ieee802dot11 from this field and my NPM picked up my 1142 AP Wireless information.

I did not setup the AP's just the wireless controllers and the AP's came up. I ried to do what you are doing but it turned out to be not what I was looking for and it will always show as unknown. I mean you can make modications to get it close but I get better info off the AP when I discover the wireless controllers and not the AP. Of course we have the 1242's not sure if it makes a difff.

Thank you for the reply. I do not have a controller these are Autonomous Access Points. Anyone know how I can gather information off of these Access Points?

I noticed on the Orion online demo that they have a Cisco 1200 wireless AP that shows the information that I would like to see on my Cisco 1142N wireless AP. Can someone help me with setting up my AP with NPM10 to display the same type of informatoin that is on the onilne demo?
