is there ANY way to stop the displaying of all the stats on a mouse rollover in the new NPM 10.4.x? I find this really distracting, not informative and would be nice if it could be turned off for those of us who don't care for that clutter.

Short of using noscript or similar browser script blocker, not at the moment. This is a known annoyance that is on our list to take care of.
