I've just upgraded to 8.5.1 SP3 direct from 7.8.5. It seems to have gone fairly well apart from two issues, which I have logged a support case for (39725 if anyone from SW is looking!), but I thought I'd throw them out here as well:
The first issue is that the Orion Account manager program simply will not run - when launched it throws up a dialog box with the message:
"This installation of Solarwinds Tools is corrupt. You will need to reinstall it.
Error code: SWL-1001"
On the guidance of SW support, I have already attempted the following:
- re-run the config wizard
- done a 'repair' from the control panel & then re-installed SP3
Neither of these has made any difference.
Everything else launches OK (or at least so far it seems to!!), it is just this one app, with the following properties:
- Directory: C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Orion NPM v8
- Size: 372 KB (380,928 bytes)
- Date modified: 04 November 2004, 11:39:14
- File Version: 7.6.0.5
At the moment, it seems like I am left with the option of uninstalling & reinstalling completely, which I'd rather avoid if possible!
So my questions are -
- Has anyone else come across this?
- How did you fix it?
- Is there any other way of getting the account password out of the database in the clear?
