NPM 9.5.1 + EOC - Changing time zone

Hi gentlemens,

I currently have 2 NPM servers (+ 2 MS SQL servers) + 1 EOC server :

- 1 NPM + his SQL + EOC are on GMT+1,

- the remaining NPM + SQL are on GMT+8.

I would like to put the 2 NPMs + EOC on the same (GMT) time zone, but i'm afraid of the side effects (graphs, statistics, reports, etc...). Can someone advise me ?

Hi,

Posting once again.
I’ve tried several scenarios here:

1) Moving Orion&NCM&SQL forwards in timezone

a. Polling didn’t stop
b. There is gap in graphs and statistics, but e.g. availability report wasn’t affected

2) Moving Orion&NCM&SQL backwards in timezone

a. Gap wasn’t visible, but polling stopped for the same length as the size of time change was.

3)    In both cases, scheduled discoveries could be skipped or done twice.
4)    Once I had to reconfigure website, but I wasn’t able to repeat this.
5)    Never encountered, but I have this feeling, that alerts could be raised randomly in some cases.

Of course, only changed timezone servers are affected.

So, and best way to prevent appearing any errors:
1)    Backup DB and inetpub folders
2)    Stop services and SQL server
3)    Change timezone(s)
4)    Start services and SQL server

Please let me know if this was useful for you.

I have agreement for maintenance window this weekend. I will update on Monday.

My biggest concern is that one of my NPM servers will go from GMT+8 => GMT, which means that i will have no polling (and thus no alerting) for that amount of time.
