Palo Alto Policies

I am in the process of setting up Palo Alto Network Insight.

I have successfully downloaded the running config of one of my Palo Alto devices, but each time I go into the Policies tab for that node I see the following:

Cannot show policy data until configs have been downloaded. Go here to download configs.

I have tried the following download config commands:

show config running

show running security-policy

And I have had the same issue each time. Does anybody know which config SolarWinds needs to display data in the policies tab.

Did you ever get this working? I'm in the same boat at the moment. I've been skimming documentation for a bit and have not been able to found out what needs to be downloaded for this to work.

I am currently experiencing the same thing. I use a show config merged through ssh. I need to use the merged version of the command because everything is managed through Panorama. If you just do straight running config it is very tiny. I can download the config successfully. But now policies.

We ended up finding that there was two templates (included with NCM) for Palo Alto devices- "PaloAlto" and "PaloAlto5050". We found that we had been using the "PaloAlto5050" template by default.

We had changed this within the 'Edit Properties' table for the device, under "CLI Device Template".

When we changed our nodes to the "PaloAlto" template, ran the NCM device config backup...the issue was now resolved.
