Multi modules: Small deployment for NPM+NTA+VMAN

Hi,

Newbie for latest VMAN and NTA 4.4 and i received a task to complete the solarwinds project which the modules involved is

1. NPM 250

2. NTA 250

3. VMAN 8

*all latest version

Customer requested for system requirement so i told them basically they need 3 servers

1x server NPM+NTA+VMAN

1x sql server

1x flowstorage

*declare as option A

But personally i think it should be okay if i create another with

1x server NPM+NTA+VMAN

1x sql server+flowstorage

*as a option B

reason why? VM is flexible to upgrade CPU & Memory

Orion server

CPU: 8 cores or better

RAM: 14 GB or better

Storage: 150 GB, 15,000 RPM

1 x 1 Gb dedicated NIC

Windows Server 2016 64-bit Standard or Datacenter Edition

SQL server+Flow Storage

Quad core processor or better

24 GB RAM or better

100 GB (or more) storage

Windows Server 2016 64-bit Standard or Datacenter Edition

SQL Server 2017, 2016 SP1 Standard or Enterprise Edition

just my concern, what will happen after 6 months because im not sure which option i should propose in documentation based on license purchased?

Hi mimn2g NTA4.4 no longer requires NTA Flow Storage as it has moved back to a SQL Database.

Hi david,

Yes then its should be okay right if i point the NTA into the same server of SQL? Mean that i can go to option B

and then suddenly last night they asked, they cant provide the sql 2016 sp1. Based on my knowledge, the latest NTA cant work so where i can find the previous installer for 4.2 or 4.3.2

If you don't have SQL Server 2016 SP1 or later then you will need to remain on NTA4.3.2, you can download that from your customer portal. I suspect that you can still use the NPM12.3 Installer, and when you select No to the 'Do you have an SQL2016 server?" prompt, it should then 4.3.2 instead. Not tested that theory though.
