Nodes with high packet loss?
skaczkowski
All,
For some reason Orion is reporting some of my nodes as having High Packet loss even though that is not the case. I've also found it'll say that a particular node or interface is down when in fact they're not.
I'm just testing Orion out and I have a little over 100 nodes in it on a beefy box so it's in no way overloaded, so what gives?
I've left everything default as far as the poll times and what not (120 seconds?) so should I be looking at tweaking some settings so it's not soo picky?
Anyone have any tips?
Thanks in advance!
-Steve

What version are you running.
There were some issues with this on some of the older versions that was fixed in 7.3
They were especially noticeable on the same local LAN segement/Network that the Orion server is on.

Most likely you are running a newer version that this.
Have you done a continuous ping from the Orion server to the devices in question just to verify this? I can't really think of anything else....

Running the latest and greatest 7.8 in a Trial mode, hoping I wasn't going to see things like this since we gotta get the higher ups to buy in..
BTW, is that registry setting still valid in 7.8? What is the default, 1?
Anyone else having a problem like this?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm.....
