Bug ? or over sight 7.2.x polling too fast

It seems to me that the polling engine threads all/most SNMP requests to a single node en mass, then goes onto the next device. This chokes some devices, even locking them up (Adtran, some versions of Net-SNMP, etc.). I have my max polls and stat requests at 15 per second, this shouldn't be unreasonable with 1600 elements. What about spreading out the requests per device a little more so we don't hammer on a single device so hard ?
