Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Clarification on UNIX Support

I have a number of both HPUX and Solaris servers I am looking to add to Orion along with the Windows Systems I am currently monitoring.
I am running SLX version 7.2.2 June 2004
I see a number of threads about adding NET-SNMP to the servers, or just going to 7.2 and everything looks great now. I am not seeing the same results.
As an example, I have one Sun server running SUN-SNMP and only see the two network interfaces (Loopback and Ethernet) (from RFC-1213 MIB ?) What needs to be done to enable this server to report stats? Add a new MIB? Update something on Orion?
The documentation doesn’t show this, or at least I can't find it. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Assuming the server is reporting the interfaces correctly, you should be able to get traffic and error stats from both by adding the interfaces into the monitor. It's a matter of adding them into SW.
Setting up SUN-SNMP/NET-SNMP is best left to the documentation that came with those packages.

Agreed on the interfaces and thank you. We are seeing that traffic just fine.
Was hoping to glean what if anything is needed on the Solar Winds side once the NET-SNMP is added to the servers.
Will Solar Winds just recognize the new MIB as added to the server or do we need to update a MIB table or something on the SW console?
Regards,
Paul
