Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Solarwinds and HP-UX
FormerMember
Hi everybody
I want to monitor all my servers by Solarwinds orion network
performance management, but when I configure snmp on my Hp Servers which have HP-UX 11.23 as operating system the solarwinds can just monitor the lan, but in the other servers which have LINUX or WINDOWS I can monitor the CPU, filesystems, lan ,...
Is there any special configuration that I didn't do?
thanks

Most *nix operating systems require you to modify the snmpd.conf file to control what OID's the community string has access to. If you have support I would contact HP and ask them to assist you in properly configuring your snmpd.conf file.

I don't believe that you can use the hpux supplied daemon to get cpu and disk stats, you need to get net-snmp (5.0.9 supposedly, but I was recently told to upgrade to 5.4 by Solarwinds to resolve an over 100% cpu report)
snmpd.conf should only contain a couple of lines unless you have an odd config
