Question about Additional Polling Engine

I'm trying to determine if I can install a second polling engine while my primary polling engine is actively monitoring my environment.  I would like clarification if during the second polling engine installation, will there be a gap in monitoring on my primary engine.

1) Do the Orion services need to be stopped on the primary poller before I install the software on my second polling engine?

2) Do the Orion services need to be stopped before I run the configuration wizard on my second polling engine?

Also, In the admin guide, it states

"Note:Additional Polling Engines only support data collection for EnergyWise, ESX Server, and wireless devices if the primary Orion NPM polling engine is running."

Does this mean I cannot reassign routers, switches, and physical servers to my second polling engine?

To answer your questions,

Yes. all polling engines and services should be stopped. If you do not stop them yourself, the installer may stop them automatically for you.

With respect to the note from the Admin Guide, you can assign any device to the additional polling engine. As long as the primary polling engine is functional, you will maintain full data collection for all devices, regardless of the poller used.
