Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Transmit and Recieve settings
k7033h
I have 36 ATM OC3 circuits and when I try to monitor them it gives the option for transmit speed and recieve speed. Is there any way to change this to transmit and recieve to be 4 megs both together. Becuase I dont' have 4 megs for recieve and 4 megs for transmitting. I have a total of 4 meg cir. Doesn't matter if its incomming our outgoing. If you add up transmit and recieve it will never be more then 4 megs. But so far on what I have found it that it doesn't monitor my wan links this way. Any one know on how to change this.

In Orion you can set the bandwidth of the interface to whatever you want.
In system manager select the interface you want, right click and select interface details. You will see the bandwidth setting at the top, which you can change to anything you want.
However, if you set this to 2Meg receive and 2Meg transmit, then if you are receiving at 3Meg and transmitting at 1Meg, you will show 150% rx utilization and 50% tx, which is not accurate either. If you could tell Orion the duplex of the interface, then the calculations would be correct when you set the bandwidth to 4Megs in each direction.
I assume Orion calculates all interfaces as full duplex???
