Page cannot be displayed

Hi Everyone,

I have yet another question.

Just recently, I'm getting an error "Page cannot be displayed" when trying to get onto the NPM webpage. There's been no changes recently (especially no GPO changes), or at least between it working and it not working.

I've tried to load the webpage directly from the NPM server, using a combonation of IP, name, and localhost. And I am connecting to the right port.

The server is still receiving traps and polling.

I've tried restarting IIS, the website itself and the application pool, all to no avail.

All services are up and running, and there's nothing out of the ordinary in the event logs.

Unfortunately I can't just bounce the box or make any significant changes unless I'm fairly certain it will work as it's our production box and it's still feeding the EOC information. And the EOC is what is being monitored.

Does anyone have any insight? Has this happened to anyone else?

Rebooting the box fixed the problem.

I'd love to know why this happened though. The IIS logs just stop, and there's nothing strange in the event viewer logs.

what OS/service pack are you running? It sound's like an OS issue.

One thing that is pretty awesome about Solarwinds products (at least for NPM, APM, and NCM), if save the database (or have remote DB), all you have to do is build a new server (say 2008 R2 x64) with the same hostname and IP, then install the software point to that database and your up and running.

Or, you could try to fix the OS, but that sometime turns out unfruitful anyhow.
