Mark Node as Offline instead of Down?

We have lots of systems that go up and down for testing purposes (we're a software company).

Is it possible to mark an entire node as "Offline" instead of "Down" so that it doesn't generate alerts? Similar to the checkbox for interfaces where you mark them as "unplugged" instead of "down".

You can get creative with your Node down and reboot alerts to filter out these nodes. A simple example is to add a custom property to nodes called "DisableNodeAlerts" with a Yes/No value option. You can use this property to filter out nodes that will meet the alert trigger condition.

If you don't need statistics for the node, you can unmannage it, from Manage Nodes, select the desired node and clic unmannage.

Sure we could unmanage it - manually - but we have 100's of nodes like these that the developers would like to collect statistics on when they are in use for testing. They're all VM's for the most part, and our automated testing process spins them up or back down out of a large pool. And the developers aren't going to take the time to bother with unmanaging anything, so I get left with a dashboard full of down nodes and alerts.

I concur with this methodology. Best of both worlds. You get all the statistics, but can filter out the alerts by excluding devices with this custom property. Works great!
