Orion Shows Linux Servers as Rebooted

We are having issues where Orion is seeing our SUSE Linux server rebooting, but if you look at the server, it does not show as being rebooted. Has anyone run across this problem? I am attaching a screen shot of what we are seeing. We are currently running 8.1, will upgrading to 8.5 resolve this issue?

Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yep we have this issus too and it is anoying having to explain our reboot reports that some are not actually reboots! This is due to the snmpd daemon restarting usually through logswitch not sure if the same happens if you restart snmp on a windows box?

I meet the same thing , and only I do is restart the snmp agent. Maybe orion can't correct process this condition.

We have also noticed that restarting SNMP on Windows is misreported as a reboot. I do think that's something to do with the SNMP implementations, nothing to do with Orion specifically.

We have the same problem. If you notice the timestamps are either 4:15 or 5:15 am. Our servers say they rebooted every 4 or 5 days at the same time.

We see that as well, not only with Windows servers, but with other Network appliances. Almost everything but Cisco it seems.

We're seeing the same thing, We are on the latest ver of Orion but 2 versions behind on net snmp. Evadently the snmp damon resets the counters every morning at 4:15 am (for us) Orion sees this as a reboot. We are setting up tests on a Linux box running the latest net snmp, I'll have better details later next week. Apparently Orion is looking at the wrong MIB for uptime.

We experienced the same issues with our Linux boxes. I e-mailed SolarWinds Support and their response was Orion monitors the System Information MIB and reads the SysUpTime OID. If this counter is reset to zero due to a counter roll over or the SNMP Daemon restarting this will cause Orion to report that the device has restarted. The counter would roll over after 497.102 Days of uptime. (32 bit counter with time measured in 100th's of a second)

Our machines were showing they rebooted weekly at the exact same time as well, we were looking for a cron job of sorts that would be causing this but have not come up with much so far.
