Circuit speed vs link speed config

This is driving me nuts, and I found some similar questions in the forums, but nothing that worked for me...

I've just brought up a new office. It's connected to my MPLS via ethernet, so the router has a full gig link to my carrier, but at present the port speed is limited to 12 megs.

NPM is happily telling me that I'm using less than 1% of my circuit for anything under almost a full saturation....

So how can I tell NPM that the circuit is only 12 megs? I couldnt seem to figure out how to edit the bandwidth speeds in system manager, they are greyed out....

You'll need to edit the interfaces in the web interface. I.E. "Manage Nodes" in the all nodes resource

Exactly...you'll need to configure a custom recieve/transmit bandwidth for these interfaces. This is what we have to do for all of our WAN and metro-ethernet connections.

For Cisco routers I personally set the bandwidth statement on my router interface, so in your case add "bandwidth 12000" and then rediscover that interface in Orion NPM. This will allow you to keep NPM set to auto for Custom Interface Speed and later when you upgrade that interface to a larger size, just adjust the bandwidth statement and then either go in to NPM and click rediscover on that interface, or let it rediscover it on its only at a later time.
