Edit Custom Node Properties on Website

folks,

I'm trying to create a way of quickly marking devices so that their alerts are surpressed during scheduled maintenance. We can have entire sites go down containg more than 30 switches. By adding a custom property of "Managed" and set to true or false I can, using system manager, change the field "managed" on multiple devices very quickly. This is good but I want to be able to do this via the website? I know I can edit individual custom properties per node by adding the resource and then selecting which custom property to edit, but I don't want to go into each device, sort of takes away the whole idea behind it.

So...can I see and edit a list containing all nodes (can be filtered) and all custom properties (can be filtered) on the website?

I take there is no way to edit the nodes custom proerties on the website, will this be available in v9?

Dave, you can currently edit a single "user created" custom property via the web page.
You cannot edit an SNMP discovered property via the web page.
You also cannot manage a property set through the System Manager directly in the DB using DB manager.

The SW DB runs in memory (on the pollers) and changing the unmanaged property using the DB manager can only be done by stopping the pollers first.
If you don't, it will be overwritten the next time the poller writes to the DB for that node.

We accomplish this exact function using ASP.NET and the gridview tool. This allows us to edit the custom properties for inventory updates as well as for alert suppression during scheduled maintenance. For other scheduled maintenance (i.e. Windows patching groups) we use scripts that use osql.exe or sqlcmd.exe to put systems into maintenance mode to prevent paging. I have been trying to get this code packaged for the content sharing zone, but I haven't had a chance. If I didn't have to wrestle with Orion's other bugs so much, I could spend time on it.
