Getting Temperature from SNMP Device

I have a sensatronics Temptrax device that monitors temperature and makes the information available by HTTP and SNMP. Is it possible to use Orion to poll the device using SNMP and set alarm values?

No. There is no custom MIB support in Orion just yet.

I solved this problem by using MRTG to poll my 7206 and set up MRTG to send email alerts when the temperature goes out of a certain range. I then imported the webpage that MRTG creates to put the graph in one of our Orion overview pages. It's one way to get custom MIBs into Orion, but it doesn't use Orion alerts.

Nor does it log the data to the Orion SQL database in a fashion that Orion can use for historical reporting...

Do you have MRTG running on the same box as your Orion? Any thing I should be aware of?

I run PRTG on the same server as Orion, and have not run into any issues.
