I get the alerts to text and email when an interface goes down, but when it comes back up the restore alert is not dent. Any Idea why?
Make sure your reset conditions and reset actions are set correctly. This sounds basic, but the wrong statement in reset condition could cause the alert not to come back up (reset action). For interface alerts, the reset condition should work just fine with the default "Reset when trigger conditions are no longer true".
If these items check out to be OK, then place a snapshot of the trigger, reset, conditions and actions so we can get a better look at our alert.

The setup looks pretty good. Thanks for posting. Is it logging to the netperfmon event log? Or just email isn't working? Have you tried to run a test alert reset? Pick a switch and an interface to see if you can get the email.
Looks like we are in the troubleshooting phase now.

I am pulling a cable on a local switch to trigger the alerts. The port down alert works fine, it sends the text and email and yes it's in the evnt log. When I plug it back in, the red dot goes green in overview, the interface up event appears in the log, but no restore alert is sent.
OK, so the email portion isn't working but the reset alert is. I would drill into the email action under Reset Actions and check the Time Of day settings and SMTP server settings. They should be identical to the one that works for Trigger actions -> Email alert.
