Hi
I am wondering what NPM actually measures for the bps in/out graphs of interfaces - is it traffic measured from the actual interface, or is measured in the router as traffic to/from that interface?
I'm asking because I am seeing regular troughs in graphs of traffic on an uplink of mine, where the incoming traffic plummets from around 80 Mb to about 2 Mb (and sometimes around 300 K), and yet when I ssh into the router and do a "sho int", I see the rx load indicates that the traffic actually hitting the interface is much higher (17/255 on a 1Gb interface, for example - giving 70Mb or so).
I had thought it was a polling anomaly of some kind, but user experience seems to match what the NPM graphs are showing and not the show int output. Can anybody advise, and offer any clues to what could be causing this discrepancy?
Cheers
