Windows Servers and Last 12 mo Charts for CPU-MEMORY-.etc

I've been asked if Orion can make a report - one page - one view - where it would have the charts for Last 12 months for each server's CPU - MEMORY - NIC - DISK SPACE.

This person wants to then use this one pager to identify trends and therefore identify those systems which could later move to VMware hosts.

Has anyone made any Orion VIEWS for something like this?

I've stepped through one single server and captured each metric's URL according to 12 month charts but I see issues where the system might have multiple logical disks or multiple NICs. Plus I'd have to figure out how to interact with the unique NODE ID number contained in each URL.

And then I'm thinking about trying to use Report Writer to export these metrics into Excel then making the charts...any thoughts or ideas welcomed.

ve just done this (thought without the NIC as i can not see much use for it, as stats would prob. come from the switch)

i created a view with 1200 wide, 3 columns, 400 each.

I took a specific technology, such as the Citrix servers of which there are 6.

I created a CPU chart for the last 30 days and grabbed the HTML that made up the image. i did the same for RAM over 30 days, and the same for the system drive but over 90 days so you get a better trend.

I then put the CPU chart HTML in column 1, ram in column 2 and disk in column 3

I then copied the HTML a few times down each column, just modifying the N:### value for node ID, and V:### for memory volume and disk volume, and you have a nice dashboard...

I literally only did this for the first time last week... i did not realise you could schedule graphical reports from Orion before that....

your instructions sound like what i might need. although i'll have over 150 windows systems. no matter...

when you said you did not realize you could schedule 'graphical' reports from Orion what do you mean by that? is that one metric at a time or multiples by HTML page?

thanks for your help. i'll get started but may need more help later.

basically, i have a custom view with lots of html on... each graph is indeed on metric which means you have a lot of graphs, but it looks OK. it was basically a lot of cutting and pasting and just modifying the node ID to get the next node.

i would advise splitting the servers up into technoloogy areas as you will have fun editting the view when you end up with 150 servers worth of data on it... play witht he sample rate too, as you will find you do not need 5 minutes, 1 hour will speed the whole thing up....
