Realtime Gauges - do they have to be opened and minimized to auto-publish?

Orion 8.5.1 SP2

I have been playing with the real time gauges but have a question I could not find an answer to.... After you save the RTG to a file and want it to auto publish does the RTG have to be active (up) on the server? It seems to work if I minimize it but not close it. I want to use this feature but don't want to have to open each RTG file and minimize so it will update certain web sites.

You will need to keep them running for updates.
