Guys I have just enabled the dependency feature in Orion NPM. Basically we have few branch offices which are connected to HO through site to site VPN tunnels in Cisco ASA. While setting up the dependency feature, I selected Cisco ASA outside interface as the primary object and the core and other switches in the branch as child.
My query is, what happens when the ISP internet link on the router is down. This would mean that physically the outside interface of ASA is reporting up but in reality there is no internet connectivity and all the site to site tunnels on the ASA will be down. Will the dependency feature work in such scenario? or does the interface has to be physically down for it to work.
