Processor que length on polling engines

I have been watching our CPU utilization and processor queue length on our three polling engines and see some odd behavior. While the processor utilization averages around 60%, the processor que length is averaging aroung 300, often spiking to 600. Typically the processor que length goes up after the processors are at 100%. Is this normal for the Solarwinds services?

Definitely not normal, and would point to CPU contention of some sort. Are these VMs? If so, are we seeing any CPU RDY spikes on the hypervisor side? We may want to open a support case to dig in otherwise: http://www.solarwinds.com/support/

No virtual hosts for the Solarwinds servers at this time. These are physical Dell R810 servers with GOBS of memory and CPU running Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. The drawback is our version of NPM is 10.1.3. The SQL database is hosted on a seperated dedicated server.

Upgrading never hurt. If you're interested, we could have our dev team walk through the 10.6 upgrade with you. DM if so.

Can I get a summary of fixes and new features between 10.1.3 and 10.5? We also have IPSLAMGR 3.5.1, NCM 6.1 and NTA 3.7. Ideally, I want to upgrade all of these at one time.
