NPM12 System Requirements

Hello All,

As per Orion, the system requirements for NPM12 says that we must have a processor speed of 3GHz. The environment we are on has a maximum esxi host speed of 2.6GHz, i took this up with vendor on a call and they suggested that i increase 2 cores of CPU and 2GB RAM on my polling engine/s so that i would not face any performance issues in the future. I had my server admin team to work on this and they want to know if this is required on all my polling engines or just the primary as they do not want to increase the utilization on the esxi hosts.

I have 1 primary, 4 APE and 1 AWP. Running a pretty huge environment.

Please suggest if i would have to increase 2 cores of CPU and 2GB RAM on just my primary or all the engines.

Any other suggestion to have this taken forward is welcome

If it helps, my primary poller is 4 cores @ 2.3GHz (1 socket), additional poller is 4 cores @ 2.6 GHz (4 sockets)... haven't had any problems with either one.

Thanks mbird. I am planning to have 4 cores @ 2.67 GHz for the primary and additional.

At first I only had the one poller with about 10,000 - 11,000 elements, even on that original (now primary) poller I didn't have any problems, you should most likely be good to go.
