I have created a custom property called "Alert Level". I put a priority label, I.E. Low, Med, High, and use that to alerts different groups of people depending on the type of device that goes down. A core switch is High level vs a switch in a computer lab may be set to low.
One other thought I had was to send alerts based on time, which may be preferred. If a core goes "down" for a second and come right back, we can send an alert to group 1, if the device is down for a longer period of time, alert group 2, etc.
I guess there a different ways to accomplish the same thing, get alerts when a device has a problem, and one could argue that ALL devices important, but does anyone have suggestions about how they are getting sending alerts to different people based on either the actual device that is down or the amount of time any device is down.
Any thoughts about how to accomplish alerts?
