Orion Website Error after upgrade to 8.5

I upgraded Orion form 7.8.5 to 8.5 today. Ever since, when I try to login to the website, I get the following error.

 I tried using the configuration wizard but of no help. Any one has seen this?

I just got a call from Matt and that was the issue...

Solarwinds has really stepped up here and dug in to figure this out..

It's possible that it does not support upgrading directly from V7.8.5
You might have to restore your old V7.8.5 server install & upgrade to 8.1.

SW support told me that 8.5 upgrade can be done diectly from 7.8.5.

I just read the release notes & 8.5 requires Microsoft .Net 3.0...

Also I just found out this is a known bug.

When you install 8.5, .NET 3.0 gets installed. I looked at the other bug and it seems to be 2 differnet bugs.

I strongly encourage you to open a Support ticket. We did extensive beta testing, but with such a diverse customer base, there are little things that slip through. If you open a ticket, we can collect some diagnostics and help you through the problem.

It's not a problem that's well-suited to the Forum.

BTW, these are not the same bug. They look the same at first glance, but if you look at the first line, one refers to IP addresses and the other refers to "object reference not set."

Yea, we get a similar error after upgrading, but only on our "extra" web-server...

Not sure where tech-support is on it right now, we've had it open for a week or two.   They seem to be stabbing at the problem rather than working on it, telling me to do all sorts of unrelated things...

We have tracked it down to where it only happens when I have it grouping items based on a custom property.  The custom property doesn't show up on the extra webserver and we get this error.  Remove the grouping of that level, it goes away...

Also think I might have found another problem.  We have several nodes that we didn't assign any interfaces on it.  They're blinking grey now saying that an interface is in an unknown state, how can that be if there are no interfaces being monitored?

I just noticed that we, too, have nodes with grey blinkies. Seems like they are on any node with a shutdown interface.

You should be able to resolve the KeyNotFoundException on the extra web server by copying the *.Schema files from your main Orion server (in C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Orion) to the same directory on the extra web server.

My SSL website problems are back after applying hotfix 2. I had a workaroung with the classicsiteproxy.cs file, but now it's not working again.

I replied back to support on my last case with this error as well which is below:

This is a known problem with hotfix 2. It will be fixed in 8.5.1, but here's a workaround that will get you running again.

Edit \Inetpub\Solarwinds\Orion\custom.config and change the port to 443.
