Yes this would be a great add on, i'm getting an icnreasing number of request to monitor systems not just the network. They want to be able to see one view that shows what is up/down and links that are heavily utilised that the system connects over.
When you say "systems", do you mean servers? What kinds of servers? Are you being asked to monitor the apps on those servers, too?

Add my vote to this request. Get increased calls of slow network and abuse, sometimes caused by users and sometimes by sysadmin misconfig, either way showing this on network maps would be nice.
Hi Denny, when I say systems I mean they want to see a network diagram showing the components of a system, switches, routers, firewall, servers etc.. If I create a view and map all they can see from the map is nodes and links up or down. They would like to see the links change colour on thresholds for utilisation, WAN, LAN or switch ports that are being highly utilised, the weathermap function is displaying this kind of information.
Something that I've seen requested elsewhere is having the ability to change the colour of nodes based on APM alerts, if a service has failed but the node is up you want to a warning state colour on the server icon. This functionality is required to monitor at a system level.
Pulling all this together would give you system level monitoring rather than individual element level, we can then create views/maps for an entire system and see the status from one view.. a good example would be an exchange environment, you have a single view shows the servers, SAN, lan links, wan links and colours would change on any of the links if they are over a utilisation threshold, servers would change colour if services fail, then you habe a single view of a system and can pinpoint the source of problems quickly.
