Inconsistant Graphs?
JonathanAlder
Hi all. We have 2 copies of solarwinds (one operational, one test) both currently graphing the same devices for "Min/Max/Average bps In/Out" on our network. Since our traffic rate is constant the graphs are flat - all well & good. However one of these copies of solarwinds keeps showing dips and spikes that the other one doesn't. They aren't caused by changes in traffic. The box is just lying to me! Has anybody experienced this? Has anyone any ideas what the problem is?
The specs of both machines are identical (although ones a 100 license and the other 250), both currently sit in the same LAN. The only difference is the one that shows the spike's using MSSQL for it's db and the other is using the runtime version.
These dips and spikes occur on many interfaces and across different makes of device. There is no discernible pattern. It's happened 15 or so times in the last week. Each dip/spike is usually 5-10Mb/s so pretty noticable.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance
Jonathan
