Recently we faced an issue when an interface went down, but there was no alert triggered. There are no events logged for this as well. There was no alert from the node as the node was up. On checking into the interface, we saw that the interface was in unknown state for a long time before it went down.
Is there a possibility where alerts can be thrown in such a condition when an interface goes down?
