Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
broadcast Storm question
dukesnyder
I have 30 machines on my network (win2000 & XP). there are 2 segments and all switches are unmanaged (cheap). I have a machine with a NIC going bad (i think) and I dont dont know which PC it is but it is taking down my network every other day with a broadcast storm or something of that nature.
Is there a way using Solar Winds Professional Edition to identify the culprit?

Download Ethereal and sniff your network. It will give you the PC's MAC & IP address, as long as it is in the same VLAN/Network/Broadcast domain. (please post these kinds of questions in the Toolsets Forum [:I] ).
