When I try generate the heatmap within atlas I get the following error "Failed to Poll Access Points / Reference Points" It was working yesterday. I don't know what to do to resolve this, can you help??
Add the network interfaces from your WLAN controller to the map and it'll spring up. You can do a group object with the Controller plus individual interfaces or make a smiley face with a few tinyLED symbols.
Did this get resolved? I am also getting the error "Failed to Poll Access Points". I've got 4 Cisco AP's and the wireless controller added to the map. NPM is able to poll data about the AP's, clients & interfaces just fine prior to creating the map.
Matt - I'm not sure what you mean by a "group object". Can you elaborate?
Having this issue as well.
I have the controller, its interfaces, and a handful of access points from "Wireless Access Points for Wireless Heat Map" on the map. Get the same error every time.
@mikesky you trying this with Cisco WAP's? I heard it only works with Cisco devices right now.
Yup. Using two Cisco 5500 series controllers.
Did anyone ever find a root cause for this issue, I am experiencing it today and can't generate any heatmaps.

I believe you have to set a point-of-reference for distance. Once you get the distance in their, the heat map should work. It's been a few years since I've messed with this though..
