Still no Variable Modifiers in Advanced Alerts?

Last I checked, you could not apply any variable modifiers to advanced alerts, which makes the IOS Version/Family change alerts odd as you cannot state what the IOS changed FROM and TO. Am I correct in stating the following modifiers still don't work with Advanced Alerts? Is this coming (soon)?

Can anyone answer whether variable modifiers for Advanced Alerts work in 9.0 or will be supported in 9.1?
