Interface alert conditional on custom poller status

We use Palo Alto firewalls and when a unit in an HA Pair is passive the interface show as down and trigger an alert.

i have a custom poller that monitors Ha status using the mib variable panSysHAState which will show active, passive, or disabled.

I'd like to build an alert for interface status so that when the panSysHAState is passive it does not fire an alert on a down interface.

i haven't been able to work this out with a custom alert. if i build an interface alert i don't see the option to use custom poller as a condition and vice versa if i make a custom poller alert.

if anyone could shed some insight that would be great.

Could you use the complex conditions to create two blocks for evaluation of trigger actions? Like your primary section would be panSysHAState = passive and then your second section would be interface not down? So the first condition will get evaluated, the HAState is passive, then move to the second section, and make that interface not down - then trigger an alert. This would allow you to have those two separate conditions, i.e. interface and custom poller be evaluated to trigger the alert.

I figured a screen shot would help - but here's where you would chose that -

When you hit that you will get below your main , primary section a button that says "Add Section" -

Click Add section, so your primary section will be your custom property of HAState, in the second section your interface status. The trigger won't generate alert unless both sections are true. Make sense?
