Monitoring XP SP2 machines
mjwoodit
We have recently purchased some new laptops which have XP Pro SP2 installed on them. We've gone into the Windows Firewall and allowed ICMP for the connection. So far we are unable to add those machines to Orion. I am sure there is something pretty simple we are missing. Anyone have any insight?

So I guess it works when you turn the XP firewall off? Orion will use SNMP to monitor devices, unless you tick the box at the bottom of the "add" window. Then it will just use ICMP. Try adding TCP/UDP 161 which should allow SNMP.
Phil.
