Is there a way to issue show commands from the web front end? Like "show interface description"? Not a job, not a script and not a report, but something on the fly.
You will want to use the Network Configuration Manager (NCM) module. This is licensed separately from NPM.
You can poll the MIB involved to get interface description using only SNMP queries and NPM however.
The more recent versions also include the web based ssh tool, but that does not pass along credentials for you to log into the device or anything, it just saves you from having to download putty.
I have NCM,. I don't see anything where I can run a custom show command from the web. I can run scripts, reports and jobs, but that is not what I want to do. And I do not want to open an ssh session. Where is the feature you are thinking of in NCM found? This used to be possible in the app on the server, but that was removed.
