Monitoring Systemhealth via snmp.

Hi all

is there a way to do systemmonitoring like "CPU-Temperature", checking HDD health & HDD temperature of Windows 2003 Server hosts via SNMP?
If not, what possibility do i have to monitor those informations? And it would be nice if those informations could be integrated into the Node-Details-Page.

Hi Stefan,

you can setup Universal Device Pollers for your server in order to monitor these stats.

You can use MIB walk ( Engineers' ToolSet ) in order to find out which OID is used and what value to expect.

If you don't have the ToolSet download a trial version and run the MIB walk application. Enter the IP of your server and run a Standard\ Private walk. The result will show you the MIB which is being used, OID and value.

We have a tutorial which will explain how to setup a Universal Device Poller and where to enter the OID.

Hi Oliver,

i've checked that MIB-Walker yesterday. Great product. But it seems, that windows won't offer me hardware-based informations like CPU or HDD temperature.
i've read that some brand manufacturers like compaq/hp or dell deliver some extensions with their Servers to get those informations.

Maybe someone here knows a tool/plugin/extension for windows to get those informations of non-brand Servers / Workstations delivered via snmp.
