Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
2nd poller not reading SNMP string
jshepherd
I recently installed a second poller and began populating it with Cisco devices - 4x00 and 3560 switches running IOS 12.2(25). While the poller sees the device, it is not returning any specific device information - device type, IOS version, and so on. It is treating them as a generic SNMP node. Do I need to install the MIB library on the second poller as well, or have I missed something else?

Sorry all! The server was installed on a network that was not allowed to pass or receive SNMP queries by our network device ACL's. So, once we moved the server to the correct authorized subnet, the devices began to respond to the SNMP queries. Something we assumed was correct wasn't, so we'll have to make sure we check from now on.
