When setting up an Advanced Alert for UnDP pollers, what is the difference between "rate", "status", and "numeric status"? I am currently using as my rule but it isn't working as expected so I am questioning if I should be using a different variable like one of the ones mentioned above. UnDP Advanced Alerts: Rate vs Status

When setting up an Advanced Alert for UnDP pollers, what is the difference between "rate", "status", and "numeric status"?

I am currently using <rate is greater than or equal to X> as my rule but it isn't working as expected so I am questioning if I should be using a different variable like one of the ones mentioned above.

In looking at the database the values for these always seems to be the same.

I am attempting to configure a advanced alert on a UnDP.

I am also very interested in seeing the answer to byrona's question. Which one should I use, Rate, Status, or Numeric Status?

I am attempting to alert on cisco device temperature > 100.

It depends on the type of UnDP. What does the MIB say? There's a discussion in the Admin Guide about different types:
