Suppressing packet loss alerts

I'm trying to learn about alerts in Orion. If have both "node down" and "packet loss" alerts enabled, is there a way to suppress the "packet loss" alert if the node is down. I've tried it in Alert Suppressions and once the node comes back up, there's usually some packet loss reported. I didn't know if there was anything I could do about it... no big deal if not.

This is how I got around it...

 

The problem with Suppressing alerts it won't take into consideration the device that triggered the alert, hence if you add a simple line in your "Alert Suppression" not to alert if the node is "down" this will take all nodes into consideration and no alert will be triggered.

To get around this I did the following, firstly cleared the “Alert Suppression” tab,

Under Trigger condition;

Trigger Alert when all of the following apply

 Percent loss is less than 99

Percentage Loss is greater than or equal to 10

 

********

This will stop alerting if the device is down (100% packet loss)

I hope this helps, you will also need to tune the alert timings and possibly ICMP timings, I still get erratic alerts but no way near the amount I had originally.
