Orion 8.5.1 - Service Pack 2
This is the second Service Pack for 8.5.1. We have switched the update terminology from “hotfix” to “service pack” because each update has multiple fixes and because each update is cumulative, so they don't really fix the traditional definition of a hotfix. If we say Hotfix 1 and Hotfix 2, it implies that you need to install both, which is not true. If we say Service Pack 2, it correctly implies (or we hope that it does) that it will include all of the fixes that were found in SP1 in addition to the fixes new to SP2.
This service pack requires Orion 8.5.1.
Service Pack 2 resolves the following issues:
- Repeat intervals for alerts are no longer limited to 8 hours
- The SolarWinds.Net Windows Event Log now overwrites as needed, eliminating the "SolarWinds.Net log file is full" message
- New databases are now created case insensitive, even if the server default is case sensitive
- CPU load is now polled correctly for Cisco devices that do not support the CISCO-PROCESS-MIB
- Some missing Cisco devices are now correctly identified
- The Alerting Engine service is now disabled by default on the Hot Standby, Additional Website and Additional Poller installs to reduce database contention
- Syslog reports can now be configured
- Improvements to the Custom Polling Service allow it to keep up with larger custom polling configurations
- Restores the ability to set a subtitle for the All Nodes resource
- Clicking the Manage button now immediately remanages the node
- Account Limitations now work correctly with Windows Authentication
- Removes account information from emails sent with Report Scheduler
- Added additional diagnostic information to the diagnostic tool
- All Nodes resource works correctly when Level 1 grouping is "None"
This service pack includes the following fixes resolved in Service Pack 1:
- Unmanaging a node now immediately updates node status to Unmanaged
- ICMP packets are no longer empty by default
- An HTML link entered for a device contact will now be shown as a link on the website
To install this service pack, run the update.exe.
