Publishing to a second website
pwinterhalder
At present I have a regular Orion setup, version 7.7, publishing to a local website. I know you can re-direct the publishing to a second server running IIS, but what I'd like to do publish to both the local IIS and a remote one.
The reason for this is that my primary website is integrated with my active directory so I don't duplicate passwords and can restrict who logs on and customise what they can see and do. I need my Solarwinds site to also offer anonymous service so those who don't have specific (customised) accounts can access it.
Please ask if I need to clarify my problem(s).
Phil.

You could purchase a copy of the Orion Web Only install for your remote server. This would let you setup a second IIS server on a different box. The second server would not need to be part of your AD, and would only need to access the SQL server.
You could then create Orion accounts with limited views for the users that connect to this IIS server.

I guess that could work, but I'm determined to find a solution which requires no additional expenditure!

So it seems that if you add "domain\everyone" into the accounts list, this acts as a catch all for any Active Directory users which don't have matching accounts in Solarwinds.
This has then allowed me to configure the exclusive web page I wanted.
