IP SLA path-echo source IP

Question

Hey folks,

I'm trying to monitor connectivity between two sites, going through the internet via our edge routers.  We use BGP at both sites and I'm unable to get it to work the way I want it to.  My presumption is, since the routing table has a particular route for the path already, it's using that regardless of what source IP I tell it to use.  Let's say I have ISP A and B.  The IP SLA is choosing to go out ISP A every time even though I'm choosing ISP B.  I have a separate icmp IP SLA that I can specify the source interface, which works exactly how I anticipated.  However, the path-echo only lets me choose source IP (not interface).  Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks for the reply, Robert.  That's disappointing to hear - shadow routers really aren't a possibility for us at the moment.

Hi,

I'm afraid it's really not possible to specify source interface for path echo operation. What about some workaround using two shadow routers, one for ISP A and one for ISP B?
